Artist drawing at a lit workbench in a private studio.
The Studio

One artist. One room.
One client at a time.

Pale Moth is the private practice of Juno Ó Riain — seven years tattooing, the last three in her own quiet home studio off Oxford Street. No walk-ins, no shared room, no loud flash day. Every client is the only client in the room that day. Work spans delicate fine line, traditional Americana with a soft palette, and fully bespoke commissions built out of a first-sit conversation and a set of reference sketches.

  • Private studio
No walk-ins, no shared space. Address shared on confirmed booking.
  • Single needle & traditional
Delicate linework to bold blackwork — in the same practised hand.
  • Fully sterile setup
Single-use needles, medical-grade sterilisation, licensed council registered.
  • Aftercare included
Balm tin, written sheet, check-in texts through the healing window.

Notes from the chair.

“Juno took the scribble I emailed her and turned it into something I genuinely stop and look at in the mirror. The studio itself feels like a tiny ritual — candles, records, a pot of tea.”

Custom commission · forearm
“She covered up a piece I'd had since I was 19 and hated for a decade. First consult I actually felt listened to. Final result is honestly better than the original was ever going to be.”
Miles R.
Cover-up · upper arm
“I'm a collector — I've sat with a lot of artists. Juno's line work is some of the cleanest I've got and the home-studio pace is something I didn't know I needed until I had it.”

Bookings

How it works.

01
What does the consultation process look like?
Start with the enquiry form — references, placement, size, any context you feel like sharing. I'll reply within a few days to let you know whether it's a fit for my hand, and if so we'll book a paid 30-minute in-studio consultation where we nail down design, size and date. The $80 consult fee is credited against your first sitting.
02
How does aftercare work?
You'll leave with a clean wrap, a written aftercare sheet, and a small aftercare balm tin included in the sitting. I'll also check in by text at the 48-hour and 10-day marks. Any questions during healing, message me first before Dr Google.
03
What's the deposit policy?
A non-refundable $150 deposit secures your booking and is deducted from your final sitting. Deposits are transferable once to a new date with 7+ days notice. Less than 48 hours notice or a no-show forfeits the deposit — it covers design time already done.
04
Do you take walk-ins?
No. The studio is a private residence and appointment-only. The closest thing is the twice-yearly flash day, announced on Instagram a fortnight ahead with a booking window. Everything else goes through the enquiry form.
